So give us some history please on Ryan Stoves to inform our readers more about your company?

We are a Family owned business and are involved in the stove and heating business for the last three decades, we carry a large range of stoves at our warehouse and showrooms, and we try to put an emphasis on top quality stoves at affordable prices, but also cater for budget stoves as well. We pride ourselves on our after-sales service and provide an expert installation service. We offer a friendly and efficient service to all our customers.

So, you deal with a lot of brand names. Name some of the brand names that you actually supply and install.

Yes, we carry all the main brands to offer the customer the widest choice possible.

BARBAS, BORU, CHARNWOOD, CONTURA, DIMPLEX, DOUVRE, DRU, GAZCO, HENLEY, MORSO, STANLEY, STOVAX, VERMONT, SPARTHERM, DIK GUERTS. Plus many more.

Is the fact that you have got long-term experience and experts in the showroom one of the things you pride yourself on?

Yes, it is very important that the customer receives the best possible information to enable them to make the correct decision to suit their requirements, which is achieved from the 30 years experience in the business passed on to the staff members. Our showroom staff are constantly updating on all new and existing installation procedures and regulations.

So, we’re conducting this interview in December. How long would it take today to get a complete installation?

We have been booked out for Installations for December since November and are in fact booked well into January. However, we usually have some available slots for last minute customers.

Tell us about the growth of Ryan Stoves over the years and the impact of winning ‘Sponsor for a day’ in 2014 where your logo was placed pitch side and on Munster rugby jerseys?

Originally, we opened a small shop in Killaloe just retailing stoves; we then moved to our current location near Nenagh Co Tipperary on the old N7 and then opened a store within the Parkway Shopping Centre in Limerick. This allowed us to move from retailing to offering the customer a complete package from the initial house survey, installation and after sales service. We found that the customer preferred the all in one package that we offered.

The Munster Rugby & Bank of Ireland Promotion in 2014 really brought us to a complete new level not only in Munster but Nationally. We still to this day have customers who come to us on the strength of that prestigious win.

What innovations do you feel have made the previously humble stove into an essential modern day appliance for the home?

In our opinion the stove was never humble, Morso have been making stoves since the 1850’s, however in the early days it was a lot harder to make a sale as the customer had little or no knowledge. Nowadays with the internet and more awareness, customers generally know what they require. Stoves have improved over the years in efficiency, and operate under strict environmental regulations. For example, better air wash system and the ability to install in air tight houses etc.
