Interior trends that are set to rock Autumn/Winter

In the blink of an eye, summer has almost come to an end. The nights are closing in quicker, the weather is becoming rather miserable and people are eyeing up some winter clothing items.

When it comes to indoors, home owners are preparing to light their stoves or open fires once again as well as turning the heating on to blast away the incoming Autumnal chill.

Whilst everyone is a tad sad that it is time to say goodbye to the long, bright nights and hello to the dull, dark never ending nights, there are some rather gorgeous interiors trends that are set to rock this forthcoming Autumn/Winter and they are sure to not only put a smile on your face with their beauty but they will also ease you into a period of time that seems to go on forever!

Some of the trends that are expected to be big include some deeper and darker shades for walls and accessories as well as some simple neutral colours and bright accents.

Colour blocking is going to be popular as you can combine a few colours to block out your winter blues. If you are going to go down the route of colour blocking on the walls, keep your accessories simple. Select a grey or white colour if you are going down the route of replacing your flooring also.

Teal is going to be a colour that we are going to be seeing a lot more of as it gives a room a brighter outlook. It is the perfect mixture of blue and green whilst giving a lovely warm and inviting feel to a space.

Mosaic tiles are also making a return. Geometric and more intricate designs are going to be a key trend over the next number of months. Not only are these tiles beautiful to look at but they are also versatile as they can work in both modern and traditional settings.

Another trend that is set to be big is bringing the outdoors indoors in a way; nature-inspired colours are sure to become a craze. For a dramatic look, choose a dark shade such as emerald green or sapphire blue. These colours would look good with gold accessories. Monochrome is also going to be a strong theme over the next number of months.

If dark colours aren’t your thing, then choose millennial pink for either walls or accessories. If you team this colour with blue and smokey grey, you will have the room of your dreams.

Velvet furnishings are also going to be huge! The opulent fabric with its short dense pile and elegant finish gives all colours a vibrant feel. For those of you who may not want to invest in a velvet couch, pick up some plain velvet cushions or throws in pretty tones instead.

Houseplants are also going to be a popular household item. Not only do the aforementioned houseplants filter the air for you but they are also the perfect decorative element to a home.
